"Quite often actually." Ignis admitted easily. That happened as often as he could get away and sometimes he had to force his way out of the Citadel because he knew he could so very easily get bogged down in work and details.

"I could come collect you if you're off duty sometimes if you would like."

"That would be lovely," Nida admits, smiling to himself. "Just, you know, don't try and get me specific times off duty? I do like my work. Though i want today."

He too was dedicated to the throne and their country. So he liked what he did.

"I promise I won't interfere anymore." Unless it was asked but even then Ignis still had to go through Gladio. And that would cost him time at the very least but today had been worth it and he smiled at hearing the other wanted today.

The weather was uncharacteristically great, so Ignis had his window rolled down a little. It almost felt like Spring though that season was still some ways off.

Today was definitely worth it. Beyond worth it. It's everything Nida could hope for and more.

"Wow, it's beautiful out," Nida says, grinning up at the sky. "I want to just to feel the sun baking into my skin."

"Well it is still January even if the weather isn't quite agreeable to that as of yet." Ignis smiled. But if Nida was smiling all was well in his book. It was worth it to try and see how the other was going to interact with things. "But we still might be able to walk along the beach and collect seashells or something along those lines."

He was hoping too to see if they had little stands set up for souvenirs or beach things, but he supposed they would find out when they got there.

"Collecting sea shells," nida says, smiling to himself. "I haven't done that since I was, like, five. I really want to do that now."

Was it wrong? Oh he was positively excited.

He was happy to hear that Nida was game for the sea shell adventure. But today would be a day to learn all sorts of things about this man who'd had his eyes on Ignis for awhile. That was still hard to believe, not that the advisor doubted the words. He just never thought of himself as special for any reason or in any way.

"Then we'll find a good spot to start with after we get settled in." In the Summer the beach sand would be warm and they could dig their toes in. It wasn't so much a thing they could do right now.

"SOunds like a plan," Nida agrees with a smile. "Six, I haven't gone looking for shells since a middle school field trip, way back in the day. I made a wind-chime out of them."

Which was of course lost now. But he was resolved to try and get stuff for a new one.

"A wind chime?" Ignis asked, very amused to think what a middle school child's version of that would be like. It was endearing at the same time though too and the advisor got a slight laugh out of it. "Well, let's see if we can reconstruct one or two."

It would be fun if he could make one just like Nida's and hang it in his apartment to remind him of their day together.

A wind chime, yes. It had been cute in his books.

"Oh no, it was horrible," Nida laughs. "I painted them all vibrant colors. The things could have been so much nicer if I left them natural."

Still, he thought he might try it anyway. It would be fun to see if he could still put one together.

"Well you were a child and children certainly have a different view of things than adults do." Leave it to Ignis to cover for kid Nida. "However you can leave them natural this time."

He kept his eyes on the road and refrained from looking over at the other even with as much as he wanted to.

"I trust you recall how you assembled all of the parts and pieces?"

"I remember twine. Wooden dowels. A drill. Beyond that, nope."

It would have to be made up as he went.

He nodded and slowed the car down a little because he'd been going a little too fast. And then he smiled "I'm not quite sure dowels and drills will be plentiful on the beach." He was teasing a little of course but that was just his way of trying to lighten the mood and hopefully make Nida smile.

"Well, of course they wouldn't," Nida laughs. 'I made them at home, Ignis."

Beaches weren't known for their power tools. Don't be stupid. But he smiles as they head along the road, watching the way things passed them.

It was good to hear the other laugh and he looked over quickly at Nida to see the smile on the man's face. Ignis figured it was a good simple goal to keep the man happy and smiling so it was a good place to start.

And since the other seemed so happy to look at the things on the road Ignis remained quiet.

"Did you ever do stuff like that? Childhood crafts?"

And that was a silly question, but he wanted to know. To know Ignis mattered to him.

Nida's voice lifted Ignis out of its thoughtful mode and he nodded with a smile. "Noct and I were given such materials at times. But we mainly made royal things such as decrees." He laughed at one particular thought. "He wanted to ban the eating of vegetables once and I had to write it down on a paper. He told me that would be one of his very first royal decrees as king."

There was another small smile. "He obviously hasn't done so and I refuse to remind him."

Decrees hardly count as crafts. Nida laughs at the idea thought.

"Well, I'm glad that one didn't go through because I love my veggies."

Their king won't eat his veggies. Nida hadn't believe that rumor. Wow.

"I do as well considering how healthy they are."

And while the king might not appreciate his little secret being out, Ignis didn't believe for one moment that Nida would do anything harmful with the information. For whatever reason the advisor knew he could trust the man, it was simply a feeling he had.

No, he was absolutely not going to make issues with the secret. His loyalty is to his king, so he'll keep it quiet.

"Truth is, I try to keep as much of them as possible in my diet. I've got a blender for fruit juice blends for myself, but I always slip in veggies."

The talk of fruit blends and vegetables got a quick look from Ignis. Consider him intrigued. "Really? What sort of fruits to do you blend together? And you put vegetables in there as well?"

Maybe he could get some of that into the king through the Queen. It would be worth a shot. And even if he didn't, Ignis would do it for himself.

"Well, it depends on a few different things I suppose. But I want banana for potassium, but I'm bad at the texture of them. Definitely some berries for antioxidants. Greens for iron too."

But it varies up in a verity of ways, right? The mood and the day, and what he can afford.

"Oh, and squash. Is it weird? I like squashes in my blenders."

"I'll have to try this concoction of yours." Ignis smiled, looking over at the other for just a brief moment. It did sound good and nutritious. The squash had him intrigued and he nodded. "I'm wondering if a book on different juice flavour combinations exist." He paused a moment as more of the scenery ticked by.

"I'm sure we can find something along those lines."

[skyward_eyes]

"Seems like a plan," Nida smiles. But the idea of the book makes him laugh, just a little.

"You know, you can work it out with experimentation," he suggests. Who needs a book.

"That is true." Ignis replied with a nod. He just liked to see if someone already had a recipe in mind but of course wasn't above coming up with things on his own. Precise measurements could be a good thing sometimes was all.

"However, that will have to wait until I'm back home if I find anything worth experimenting on as far as seafood goes today."
