The advisor shook his head slightly. "It most certainly came everywhere." The four lads had ensured that personally and it had been quite the ordeal. But come the dawn had and there had been great sacrifice and exhaustion on all of their parts. The trip was supposed to have been so easy and none of it turned out that way at all.

He was quiet as he kept his eyes on the road for a moment before speaking again. "I haven't been out this way since then. I suppose I wanted to see how changed it was since we came back home." They were all much wiser and had aged even if not by much physically.

"Honestly, I'm not surprised. You've been busy. Even rebuilding needed people like you here."

And now Nida was even more excited by the plan. They woudl see the world together, even if only a small part of it.

Ignis let out a small laugh. "Well I'm certainly glad to have helped where I've been able to." Rebuilding the Citadel had been the ordeal and getting enough people to come in and help with that particular project had been interesting. Fortunately Niflheim had brought helpers over though tensions had remained in parts.

"But today is for relaxation."

Relaxation? Nida wanted to laugh. He doesn't know that he's properly relaxed in years. The dawn may have come, but a lot of the Guard still worked on doing what they could to help rebuild when they weren't on duty or training.

"What is this relaxation of which you speak?

Ignis smiled as he kept his eyes on the road at Nida's question. "Well I'm told it does a great deal of good." The advisor didn't have much downtime due to constantly being around to help Noctis. The Queen had to settle in too which gave him some more work to do as well.

"But I must admit that I am rather willing to learn what it really is." In other words he hoped to learn along with the man beside him.

Nida chuckles at the flat statement.

"Well, maybe we can learn a little about it today. Bring you back nice and loosened up."

"And you as well." Ignis replied with a smile. He didn't plan on being the only one who relaxed today. Besides, he was the one who usually worked to relax others so silently he wasn't sure how much actual relaxing was going to get done by him personally. But he wanted to try at least and hopefully both of them would have a pleasant enough day to learn what this whole relaxation thing was about.

"Do you enjoy driving?" Nida asks as he opens a drink. "I know some people aren't a fan of it."

"I do find it to be enjoyable." Ignis answered honestly. Prompto got distracted, Gladio refused and Noct could be erratic. And so it was left to him to do practical things such as cook, clean, drive and all of that.

"It helps me focus."

"Focus?" Nida asks, thoughtful at that. What an idea. He tended to find that driving cars made him focus on little beyond the vehicles. "You ever go driving just to think then?"

"Quite often actually." Ignis admitted easily. That happened as often as he could get away and sometimes he had to force his way out of the Citadel because he knew he could so very easily get bogged down in work and details.

"I could come collect you if you're off duty sometimes if you would like."

"That would be lovely," Nida admits, smiling to himself. "Just, you know, don't try and get me specific times off duty? I do like my work. Though i want today."

He too was dedicated to the throne and their country. So he liked what he did.

"I promise I won't interfere anymore." Unless it was asked but even then Ignis still had to go through Gladio. And that would cost him time at the very least but today had been worth it and he smiled at hearing the other wanted today.

The weather was uncharacteristically great, so Ignis had his window rolled down a little. It almost felt like Spring though that season was still some ways off.

Today was definitely worth it. Beyond worth it. It's everything Nida could hope for and more.

"Wow, it's beautiful out," Nida says, grinning up at the sky. "I want to just to feel the sun baking into my skin."

"Well it is still January even if the weather isn't quite agreeable to that as of yet." Ignis smiled. But if Nida was smiling all was well in his book. It was worth it to try and see how the other was going to interact with things. "But we still might be able to walk along the beach and collect seashells or something along those lines."

He was hoping too to see if they had little stands set up for souvenirs or beach things, but he supposed they would find out when they got there.

"Collecting sea shells," nida says, smiling to himself. "I haven't done that since I was, like, five. I really want to do that now."

Was it wrong? Oh he was positively excited.

He was happy to hear that Nida was game for the sea shell adventure. But today would be a day to learn all sorts of things about this man who'd had his eyes on Ignis for awhile. That was still hard to believe, not that the advisor doubted the words. He just never thought of himself as special for any reason or in any way.

"Then we'll find a good spot to start with after we get settled in." In the Summer the beach sand would be warm and they could dig their toes in. It wasn't so much a thing they could do right now.

"SOunds like a plan," Nida agrees with a smile. "Six, I haven't gone looking for shells since a middle school field trip, way back in the day. I made a wind-chime out of them."

Which was of course lost now. But he was resolved to try and get stuff for a new one.

"A wind chime?" Ignis asked, very amused to think what a middle school child's version of that would be like. It was endearing at the same time though too and the advisor got a slight laugh out of it. "Well, let's see if we can reconstruct one or two."

It would be fun if he could make one just like Nida's and hang it in his apartment to remind him of their day together.

A wind chime, yes. It had been cute in his books.

"Oh no, it was horrible," Nida laughs. "I painted them all vibrant colors. The things could have been so much nicer if I left them natural."

Still, he thought he might try it anyway. It would be fun to see if he could still put one together.

"Well you were a child and children certainly have a different view of things than adults do." Leave it to Ignis to cover for kid Nida. "However you can leave them natural this time."

He kept his eyes on the road and refrained from looking over at the other even with as much as he wanted to.

"I trust you recall how you assembled all of the parts and pieces?"

"I remember twine. Wooden dowels. A drill. Beyond that, nope."

It would have to be made up as he went.

He nodded and slowed the car down a little because he'd been going a little too fast. And then he smiled "I'm not quite sure dowels and drills will be plentiful on the beach." He was teasing a little of course but that was just his way of trying to lighten the mood and hopefully make Nida smile.

"Well, of course they wouldn't," Nida laughs. 'I made them at home, Ignis."

Beaches weren't known for their power tools. Don't be stupid. But he smiles as they head along the road, watching the way things passed them.

It was good to hear the other laugh and he looked over quickly at Nida to see the smile on the man's face. Ignis figured it was a good simple goal to keep the man happy and smiling so it was a good place to start.

And since the other seemed so happy to look at the things on the road Ignis remained quiet.
