Ignis coughed lightly wondering if there had been another intention set behind the 'occasion you can and will rise to' but he said nothing and just smiled smugly. "Of course I can." And with Noct otherwise occupied, it gave the advisor the day off so he was free to do what he wanted. Plus he'd secured his rare day off. It really wasn't so much that he couldn't have them it was moreover that he just worked.

As they got down to the car, the trunk was opened and he set his daypack in there with a smile. He really didn't know how to feel about this excursion other than nervous, but he would cover it.

Looking over at Nida he nodded. "Do you need to put anything back here while the trunk is open?"

"Well, I didn't really bring anything.

Seeing as he wasn't certain what this was all supposed to be, he hadn't bothered with packing for it.

Green eyes looked over at Nida. He himself had only packed Ebony's so that was about the extent of what Ignis had packed but he smiled. "That's perfectly fine. The water would be far too cold to dip into at this time of year. But if you wish to grab an extra coat if you want to walk near the water we can certainly wait to leave. The choice is yours."

The advisor thought a trip to the beach was fitting but if they were going to walk near the water itself more layers or extra warmth wouldn't hurt anything.

"Oh man, an extra coat," Nida says, that would be useful. But... "My apartment space is out of the way. Maybe we can stop somewhere quick?"

The Kingsglaive pay was more than sufficient to cover buying an extra coat.

"Are you sure you don't wish to just go get it?" This was asked before Nida had suggested stopping somewhere. And he had to think. "Well we can certainly stop somewhere in the Crown City or we the next nearest place that I know of is Lestallum."

It would be a long journey but they could head out there and stop for lunch and maybe do some shopping. Then they could come back to Galdin Quay and hit the beach and then have dinner there.

"Well, if you'll meet me down in the garage, I can run upstairs and grab by coat and try and meet you as quick as I can?"

IT just, he's so eager to have this day with Ignis, his crush for YEARS, the one that he might as well have considered as 'got away', and yet here they were, doing this.

"I can do that." Here he was quick to cut himself off from inviting himself along because that was downright rude. And he didn't want to do that. "There's no rush though since we have the entire day." And evening too but he didn't mention that in case it was too presumptuous.

Nida was so adorable and Ignis just wanted to spend the day holding hands and kissing but that wasn't much of a day really. So he just admired the other's handsome face and smiled at him.

There's rush because he wants this time together. But he supposes he shouldn't make it awkward. SO he just smiles and nods.

"Okay. Um... I'll go do that. Meet me then?"

nida finally pulls away and races off down the hall. Better he goes and gets that done, right? The sooner he has his coat the sooner he's with Ignis. And he really is with Ignis soon, barrelling out of the elevator in the garage to look around for the other man

"Alright." There was half of a question in the advisor's mind but he didn't give voice to it. If Nida wanted to go do whatever he wanted, well he was a free man after all. So Ignis just went and had an Ebony from his backpack and waited at the designated spot. There wasn't much to do while waiting so he tried to talk himself into relaxing.

Keyword tried.

It wasn't as if Ignis was an overly nervous type, he was moreover a worried sort of type. But his green eyes lit up when he saw the man coming out of the elevator in such a rush.

"I'm over here." the advisor called, with the amusement of how adorable this man was evident in his tone.

Oh! Nida stopped and smiled, looking to Ignis. Come on, look dignified. He tries to keep himself calm as he continues forward, taking a careful pace. Thank you, he's an adult, see?

"Alright then, I think I'm ready."

When Nida came closer, Ignis opened the door for him because that was both gentlemanly and polite, not to mention proper. So he smiled. "If you're ready to go then let's be off."

He'd already texted Noctis to inform him that he was taking the next 24 hours off per their agreement so he wasn't to be disturbed.

Wow, no one had ever opened a door for Nida before. HE smiles at Ignis and climbs in.

"Thank you, very much."

"You're quite welcome." Ignis smiled as he shut the door behind Nida.

Getting in the other side, the advisor started the car up and got it moving.

"Off we go."

Off they went indeed. Nida just smiled.

"Nice car. I admit, I haven't even considered getting one yet."

When he stopped at a light green eyes had turned to look at Nida. "I'm still looking for one for myself. This one and all of the others that I've driven so far are owned by the Crown." Even Noctis had his own car but he himself hadn't found one that he particularly wanted to own.

There were even times he drove Noct around in his own car so buying one hadn't been on the advisor's list of needful purchases.

"As a member of the Glaive, I have little purpose to leave the Citadel, beyond shopping," Nida points out. "So public transportation is enough for me.

"It is enough since it does seem to run regularly enough." Ignis agreed, moving the vehicle forward. But of course he'd had to learn to drive in order to be of service to the Crown like everything else he'd done and learned pretty much. He didn't trust Noct's driving and preferred to be in the driver's seat but if the king decided differently the advisor didn't object.

"Do we need to stop anywhere before hitting the road for our destination? Some snacks or refreshments perhaps?"

"Well, you've definitely quite fed me, I don't think I could consider food for a while," Nida pointed out. He did have to stay fit, and he could wait for a meal he supposed.

"A drink might be good, though. Not everyone is addicted to coffee drinks, as I've heard you are."

"Then we'll stop shortly at a convenience store so that we can stock up." Ignis was good, but he figured if Nida needed it, stopping would be a good idea. It would be at least a few hours in the car on the way. So it was a good idea to get supplies before they hit the long stretch of road.

"How much stocking up do you think is needed?" Nida asks, tilting his head. He doesn't know Ignis's plans after all. "Uh... gotta ask. Did you get the Glaive a day off so we could go on a date? If so, badass."

"A few things would be fine. We are going to be on the road for a few hours so it might help pass the time." He pulled into a parking spot for a local place and got ready to get out of the car. To Nida's question there was a smile.

"I might have had a hand in it."

And that was all he said before getting out of the car.

"Oh man," Nida laughs, shaking his head. "My date throwing around his authority. I admit, I'm impressed."

And frankly, he likes it too. Likes the fact that he can be someone Ignis wants to impress.

Ignis felt a little smug and a little embarrassed at the same time, but he did his best to try and hide it. He simply wanted Nida all to himself for a whole twenty four hours and that wasn't going to happen on its own. Obviously it wasn't something he would pull often but he did it this one time. And there might be others on occasion.

The advisor was the quiet one and those were the ones that you always had to watch. He pulled the strings behind the scenes and played it down that the others looked to him for direction.

"It was a simple matter really."

"Simple matter, and yet amazing," Nida countered. "That you'd want to see me that much."

ANd that's breathtaking. So fucking breathtaking. No one ever wanted him that badly before.

"Well with it being a first date, having it cut short by guard duty would be..distracting." It wasn't the word he wanted to use but it was a word that would work. He just smiled as he held the door open for Nida to go inside of the store so he could figure out what he wanted for the road.
