Ignis nodded at the text and got ready. No strawberries, that could be handled without a problem.

But what to make.

Well he had eggs and sausage so the eggs got scrambled and as he was doing that, he remembered he had bacon. So that got cooked up as well along with the sausage. He had bread for toasting and just for fun (because he wanted to make sure there was plenty of food) Ignis made some square sized potatoes in a skillet too.

So all was ready by the time he opened the door and somehow kept himself from whistling at the handsome man in front of him.

Well, he could at least see from the look in Ignis's eyes that the guy appreciated how he looked. Nida smiled shyly and looked over Ignis.

"am I invited in?"

"Of course." Ignis nodded, stepping back from the doorway.

And he turned around so he wouldn't stare because he'd admonished Noct about that several times, stating how rude it was. "Breakfast is ready so you'll find eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, and toast. Have a seat and start eating and I'll get drinks. And for that I've coffee or tea available."

He's nervous but trying not to show it here.

"Wow, I feel spoiled," Nida says as he follows the other man into the space. He moves to where the table is clearly laden.

"Yes, coffee."

"Wanted to make sure you ate today, especially with the travelling we'll be doing." Ignis explained. And that's when he got a text from Gladio stating the Glaive had the day off. Quickly he texted back to remind the shield that he had yet to inform them if he hadn't already.

And then he got the coffees ready.

"So kind. There are rumors about your cooking around here. I'm eager to try it," Nida admitted as he considered the spread. He'd rather not load up without Ignis joining him.

"Have you eaten yet?"

"Rumours are there?" Ignis asked, wondering if he should be surprised. "That sounds like something Gladio would start, considering he's had plenty of meals by me at camp." And he would pinch hit for the shield when he was hungry at times.

Setting the coffees down, he saw that Nida wasn't eating, so he automatically reached for the man's plate to get it set up with food.

Rumors indeed.

"I think it was Lady Iris actually," Nida admits with a shrug as he takes the coffee and watches Ignis fill his plate.

"So I had this dream last night, that you danced with me and we looked at the stars."

"I see." So it was Iris, well she'd had a few meals at camp too so it was no surprise that the shield's sister would talk about food too even if it surprised him to hear.

So he just smiled and then stopped and turned to look at Nida. "Dancing and star gazing? That all sounds rather romantic." And it could totally be done.

"That might be a splendid idea for another day." And hey, the more ideas the better really. It would give them more things to do together. They could even pull that off tonight if Gladio's text would ever come through.

Of course, they had actually done the stuff the night before, so that was more what Nida meant.

"So that... didn't happen last night?" Nida asks, still a bit nervous.

OH.

"I'm sorry it did happen last night, but here I thought you were thinking of doing it again in another location." He shook his head and set the plate down. "My apologies." To try and distract himself he got his own plate filled up in preparation to eat.

The sooner they got out on the road the better.

"Oh, maybe I will, in the future. But first, food."

He absolutely doesn't mind starting into the meal. And maybe he makes a pleased noise at the taste of the food. Good stuff.

"So much better than the cafeteria."

Ignis took a sip of his coffee and nodded. And it isn't long before he hears Nida obviously enjoying it. So he started in on his own breakfast and had just finished a bite of the eggs when he heard the decision.

"Well I should most certainly hope so."

He didn't want to diss the cafeteria because it served a purpose which was to feed the Glaive. But Ignis better make better food because it was important that his cooking was always better.

Well, it was, and Nida had his plate clear in record time. That was... Damn, that was good.

"I could eat like this forever."

"Be careful or I might just believe you're serious." Ignis smirked. And then he gestured with his knife. "There's more there if you want it." He had overcooked but had done so on purpose. So if Nida went hungry really it was his own fault.

"I don't want to be overstuffed," Nida admits. "But maybe just a smidge more."

He offers Ignis a smile before, nervously, reaching out to touch his hand.

"I'm excited about today."

Well knowing people had to get up and move around was something he was okay with. Sometimes Ignis was just so used to feeding four people that cooking for two was a challenge he would have to learn to deal with.

But if he had leftovers, he could always call Noct or the shield and they'd come running as had happened in the past plenty of times.

"Anything in particular you're excited for? Or is it just in general getting out of the City for the day?"

"Spending time with you," Nida answers with a smile. "I just... I want to spend some time with the guy I have a crush with."

He tilts his head to consider Ignis.

"How far can we get in a few hours?"

That got a slight blush. It was still so hard to believe that someone thought that highly of him to develop a crush on him but due to 'who he was' didn't dare say so until tonight. It was just as well he supposed but it was still awfully flattering all the same.

So he just shook his head at the question. "We can get to Galdin Quay at least."

"I've never been to the Quay," Nida admits with a smile. "I'd love to see it. Maybe I could, uh, treat you to lunch?"

Nida hasn't bothered to check a single text that wasn't from Ignis. Oops.

"Lunch would be lovely." Ignis smiled. And then of course he could plan dinner for them later either out or if Nida wanted to go back to the Citadel. Maybe he should try and get ingredients while at Galdin Quay.

"The water there is quite lovely and the food is excellent at the Mother of Pearl." Maybe they should spend a weekend there sometime..if things got that far with them.

"I haven't been swimming in a long time. Maybe I should bring some trunks?"

Was that okay? Could he assume that?

"If you wish to play in the water it's fine. However it will be quite cold I'm certain." But by all means, Ignis is not about to stop Nida from getting dressed into those swimming trunks if that's what he wants to do.

"I do believe there'll be plenty of time for us to relax today."

Silently he was looking forward to this excursion far more than he was before.

"Plenty of time?" Nida asks, frowning. "I still have a shift tonight, Ignis. It's an honor to serve as well, so I don't begrudge it."

Even if he wished more time.

Green eyes narrowed at Nida's reply and he texted Gladio really quick. And the shield replied back immediately stating the text had gone out to all of the members of the Glaive. So Ignis looked up at the other.

"I do believe you might wish to check your phone."
