But he really is hot. How silly that he can't see it.

"I'm sure it has nothing to do with how intense your eyes can get," Nida suggests.

That had Ignis immediately half snort. "My eyes aren't intense, they're simply green." But there was a smile on his face as he spoke. If Nida thought his eyes were that way, he was quite flattered.

[skyward_eyes]

"No, they're intense," Nida insists. "To be looked at them is to hope you are found worthy."

WHich was a weird thing to say, but he didn't care.

Ignis felt his face heat up at those words and laughed a little. "Now you flatter me but I do thank you for the kindness." But secretly he really was pleased that someone could think so highly of him. It was hard to believe or think that someone would honestly believe such a thing.

Flattery, or description? Nida thought it was more the latter. But he wasn't going to press and make the guy uncomfortable. Because his attention had gone elsewhere, to the column of Ignis's throat. That would look pretty all marked up.

The thought had Nida's cheeks going red.

As they danced, Ignis focused his attention on Nida and somehow the other man's cheeks were turning red. So he looked at the man in his arms in concern. "Do you have need of a rest? We can stop dancing if you're feeling unwell."

He had no idea why the cheeks were red.

"I'm not unwell. Just lost in my mind," Nida promises. "I don't want to, uh, lose this night. The dancning."

Please don't stop. What if Ignis doesn't like him in the morning?

Ignis turned them gently, realizing Nida's head might be fuzzy so he was trying to be careful. "Lose the night? Are you referring to forgetting about it?" Who knew, the other man might not remember this in the morning.

"If that is the case, I'm quite sure Prompto has taken his fair share of photographs."

No, he knew he'd remember that. But the idea of the King's best friend taking pictures made him blush even more.

"No, it's... I want this night to never end."

Ignis smiled gently, really touched that Nida would say something so thoughtful and sweet. "Nor do I." Obviously it would, but then his own face turned slightly red at the thought of asking the man out on a dinner date.

He knew the traditional things to do of course, but it was the actual follow through.

Follow through was something one of them was going to have to learn to do. But perhaps not this night.

"Then another dance?" Nida asks, voice soft and hopeful.

"I've offered to give you as many as you wish." Ignis replied, looking into Nida's eyes with a smile. "So one more is completely fine." He knew he was going to get so busted on later but of course he'd be more than ready with a barb or six of his own so he wasn't worried.

Well, the friends the man had could wait for now.

"If you give me that time, I'll dance our feet off."

"I have to admit I'm rather intrigued. I haven't had such an enthusiastic dance partner."

Like ever.

"It's quite the joy actually."

[skyward_eyes]

"I just worry that when you leave my arms, I'll be like that children's tale. The pretty dance partner at the ball disappearing, never to be seen again."

And he'd hate to lose this chance. THough the honesty startles him.

Ignis couldn't help but feel a bit sad at the words spoken and he looked at Nida in concern. "Is that why you keep requesting dances with me? You're afraid I'm going to disappear from your life?"

Would Nida really think that of him?

And that had him thinking. "Is there some way I might reassure you otherwise?"

He's not convinced he's not napping.

"Come by in the morning and invite me to breakfast?" Nida suggests. It's the best he can come up with.

"I can do you one better. I'll make breakfast for you and we can find plenty of things to do since my services shouldn't be required at any point for the new year." It was always a sort of unofficial day off.

"We can even leave the Citadel and go for a drive somewhere if you'd like." That should give the man a lot of memories.

Wait, a day off? That he could share for a bit? Wow.

"Man I really hate that I have a shift tomorrow evening. But maybe I can take that time with you. And a drive. I hear you have a great car."

He nodded. "If you've need to be back by a certain time, we'll certainly have you back on time." Who knew, maybe they could go to Galdin Quay sometime too. That would be a pleasant trip, but that would require a coordination of schedules.

Ignis chuckled. "A drive would be imply splendid. And perhaps we can grab lunch while we're out." And maybe an early dinner if that was in the cards too. He'd have to wait and see.

"How kind of you," he smiles at Ignis, almost adoringly. So nice to hear it all. "I might like that. Driving. Dining."

Time with Ignis. Yes, that would all be great.

"If you give me a time, we can set it up. Although tomorrow you may wish to sleep in instead." Depending on Nida having a hangover or something along those lines. And while Ignis was one to plan, his companion might have issues at being an early riser for one day. And the advisor of course wasn't looking forward to having to deal with nosey though well intentioned friends.

Give him time? He'll try. A lot. But he still wasn't certain that the man would really be there in the morning.

"Sleep is nice, but you're nicer."

Ignis' face turned slightly red though he fought to maintain his composure. "As are you for the compliment." Nice? No one said that about him. It never occurred to him to mind before, but why was this coming from this handsome man? Why had he not heard it before? Well it didn't matter, the lads didn't have to tell him that.

He would've simply brushed it off anyhow.

But somehow with this he didn't want to. He wanted these words to just simply sink in and stay.

The lads should have told him that. Should have told Ignis he was amazing.

"Dancing with you is like flying over the ground," Nida whispers.
